Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Vetera report actually include?
A standardized 6–12 page PDF covering: license status, full disciplinary history, anesthesia/sedation permit status, public complaints, civil court filings, federal sanctions (OIG, SAM), DEA registration, and a color-coded risk summary. Every finding has a clickable citation to the original public source.
How is this different from Healthgrades or the state license portal?
State portals show one fact (license status) and require you to know how to navigate them. They don't compile court records, sanctions, or sedation history in one place.
Healthgrades and similar sites are funded by advertising from the same providers they list. They have a built-in incentive not to surface uncomfortable findings. Vetera takes zero money from providers — patients are our only customer.
How fast will I receive the report?
Standard reports are delivered within 3–5 business days. Rush reports arrive within 24 hours and include a brief phone consult to walk through findings.
Why only Florida?
We started in Florida because the state has unusually accessible public records and a high concentration of cash-pay specialty procedures (dental implants, cosmetic, oral surgery). We will expand to other states based on demand. If you need a report on a provider in another state, email us — we may be able to help on a case-by-case basis.
Can a provider stop you from publishing a report on them?
No. We report only on public records that anyone is entitled to see. We are not publishing opinions, ratings, or claims — only facts already on file with the state or courts.
What if the report finds something concerning?
Vetera does not tell you whether to use a provider — that decision is yours, ideally in conversation with another healthcare professional, the provider themselves, or an attorney where appropriate. We will explain what the record says in plain English, but the judgment call is yours.
What if my report comes back clear? Does that mean my provider is safe?
A clean record is a good signal but not a guarantee. Many issues never become public (private settlements, unreported incidents). A clean record means there are no public flags — it doesn't mean none exist. We are explicit about this in every report.
Are you doctors? Lawyers?
Vetera is an independent records-research service. We are not healthcare providers and not attorneys. We do not provide medical advice or legal advice. Our work product is factual, citation-rich research — the same kind of research a paralegal or licensed investigator might perform.
How do I request a report?
Submit a request with the provider's name and location. We'll review and reply by email with the completed report.
What if I'm not happy with the report?
If a report contains a factual error, we'll correct and reissue at no charge. If you believe the report failed to deliver on its promise, we'll refund in full — no questions for the first 30 days.
Can I request a report on a provider I'm researching for a lawsuit?
Yes. Many of our reports are used by patients evaluating providers, but the same report format is also used by attorneys and case investigators. Email us if you need a deeper investigation or expert-witness vetting.
